VMware ESX Server 2.5.4 Update for HP ProLiant DL585 G2 Server Systems

Ohne rompaq Installation im Bios kann nur eine ältere Version von ESXi (max. 2.5.4) installiert werden. RAID Controller p400 wird von neuere Versionen von ESXi nicht erkannt ausser man installiert das ROMPAQ.

What's New

This update enables support for HP ProLiant DL585 G2 server with AMD Opteron 8000 Series, Rev F, dual core processors.

Applicability

This update is for ESX Server 2.5.4 on HP ProLiant DL585 G2 server with AMD Opteron 8000 Series, Rev F, dual core processors only. For installation on all other servers, please obtain the installation ISO here.

Note: Remote and scripted installations are not supported. The installed server will be equivalent to ESX Server 2.5.4 with Upgrade Patch 5 (build 39751).

Preparing the System for the ESX Server Installation

To prepare the HP DL585 G2 system for the ESX Server installation

  1. Make sure the system has the  A07 BIOS (12/02/2006)  on it.on it.
  2. Power on the system and Press [F9] to boot into the system BIOS.
  3. Select System Options from the menu and disable the USB 2.0 Controller.

  4. Save the settings and exit the BIOS utility.

Installing ESX Server

Please refer to the instructions in Installation and Upgrade guide for ESX Server 2.x for new installations.
